Measurement of the information society

Ranking preparedness generates interest, particularly from those at the top (who like to promote their position) as well as those at the bottom (who can call for funding in order to improve). At DAKA advisory, we bring decades of experience in measurement and understand the subtleties of weighing quantitative and qualitative data to gain intelligent insights regarding performance of various aspects of the information society.

Examples of our work in this area:

  • Advised the United Nations on its global e-government survey program, most recently during implementation of the 2012 edition, and in preparation for the 2014 survey
  • Presented emerging trends and frameworks for measurement at the “International Conference on Chinese Rule of Law: E-Government Development Index” in China
  • Contributed to a United Nations publication on “Guidelines on Open Government Data for Citizen Engagement,” together with other invited international experts in the field
