DAKA advisory can edit, write, or contribute to a range of short articles or longer reports for public consumption or for internal strategy. We provide both comprehensive and in-depth studies into particular topics or background papers. DAKA advisory works with clients to determine scope and topic depending on objectives.

Papers:

Our papers generally range between 1,000 and 10,000 words (about 2-20 pages) and include quantitative and qualitative analysis based on thorough desk research and interviews with high-level executives, policy-makers, and independent experts who are knowledgeable about the topic.

We often write about a specific country or topic but also encourage clients to broaden the scope in order to attract a wider audience. For example, a topic such as cyber security and its impact on trade would appeal to a readership beyond a single country. We are always happy to brainstorm on potential topics. Reports can be DAKA branded or client branded.

A selection of our published reports can be found in the news archive.

Examples of our recent work in this area:

  • “Meeting the cyber security challenge in Indonesia: An analysis of threats and responses,” commissioned by the British Embassy in Jakarta on behalf of the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office; read it here (PDF).
  • “Digital development in Malaysia: An analysis of cyber threats and responses,” commissioned by the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur on behalf of the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office; read it here (PDF).

Strategic reports:

Our internal reports provide guidance and advice on strategic initiatives and help organizations improve their effectiveness and efficiency in reaching their cyber objectives. We excel in taking complex topics and breaking them down into key components, which can then provide frameworks for developing policy and measuring progress.

Strategic reports are custom publications according to specific internal objectives or assessments and are not for public distribution, although we can help to present the findings internally; DAKA advisory can sign a non-disclosure agreement for these types of reports
